Objectives
- To develop a comprehensive Work Health & Safety Manual for properties withing the Government Property NSW (GPNSW) portfolio
- To provide GPNSW employees and contractors alike with an easy to use reference tool that lists the processes to conduct works and maintenance safely on GPNSW sites
Scope of Works
The Work Health & Safety Manual is presented in three volumes:
- Volume 1 which lists the policies and procedures of GPNSW
- Volume 2 which includes site specific forms, registers and assessments
- Volume 3 which provides a record of all assessments, works and checks conducted
The scope of works included:
- Providing two sets of each volume
- Conducting a risk assessment
- Conducting a hazard inspection
- Producing site induction forms
- Compiling all forms and folders
- Developing site specific risk assessment registers
- Compiling existing GPNSW policies and procedures
Results
A standardised process was put in place across varying sites for the effective maintenance and management of GPNSW properties.
GPNSW was furnished with two comprehensive Work Health & Safety Manuals specific to various buildings and sites. Some of these sites included corporate high rises, heritage-listed buildings, correctional facilities, Historic Houses and Caretaker sites. Employees and contractors alike have an easy to use reference tool to conduct works on these sites with compliance checklists, forms and rcords enabling them to manage the process from start to finish; concluding with a recording of the activity upon completion.
